Are you stuck on what to give the golfer in your life this Christmas? Whether they’re a seasoned golfer or someone who’s just discovered the game, we’ve put together a gift guide with something for every level and budget, including a few ideas you can pick up right here in Howth at Deer Park Golf.
If you really want to give something that makes a difference to their game, this is it. A lesson with Alan is one of the most practical and genuinely appreciated gifts you can give a golfer at any level.
Alan specialises in putting and The Short Game, which is the area that makes up for all of the poor approach shots and that can be improved the quickest. 42% of the game of golf is putting.
Lessons are available year-round at Deer Park, so there’s no pressure to redeem over the Christmas period. Contact Alan at alan@deerparkgolf.ie or call 087 418 0201 to arrange a golf lesson as a gift.
Buying a full set of golf clubs is a big investment, and for someone just starting, it’s often the wrong one. Our club hire offering means they can try the game properly before committing, and our hire sets are excellent quality, not the dusty relics you might expect.
For right-handed players, we have Mizuno JPX 825s and Callaway X2 Hots, both forgiving, well-balanced sets that suit beginners and returning players perfectly.
For left-handed players, we have TaylorMade M4 and M6 sets.
For ladies, right-handed players can choose from TaylorMade Kalea and TaylorMade M2, while left-handed ladies have the Wilson Staff D200, a great all-round set designed with women’s swing speeds in mind.
We also hire PXG Woods, Irons and Putters, premium equipment for those who want to experience a top-tier set before buying.
A round of golf with hire clubs included makes a great gift package. Get in touch with our pro shop to organise your gift: (01) 832 3487 or info@deerparkgolf.ie
Our pro shop is worth a visit in the lead-up to Christmas. We have a range of golf wear for men and women, including warm beanies perfect for winter rounds, and golf tops for both. Pop in and take a look; stock changes regularly and there’s always something worth picking up for the committed golfer.

Sometimes the best golf gifts are the small, practical ones. Here are a few stocking filler ideas that work brilliantly for all golfers:
A Keep Cup
A quality reusable Keep Cup is ideal for golfers who like to keep a hot drink with them for a mid-round cuppa, which, frankly, is most of them. Players can pick up a hot drink from Irish coffee roasters Warbler & Wren at our golf shop before they head out. There’s something very satisfying about bringing your own cup. Look for double-walled options that keep drinks hot for a full 18 holes.
Water Bottle
A quality reusable water bottle is similarly welcome. Hydration matters in golf as much as in any other sport, particularly on longer rounds. A bottle that fits in a golf bag pocket and keeps water cold will be used constantly. Brands like Hydro Flask or Chilly’s are reliable choices.
Energy gels
Energy gels and golf-specific snacks are gifts that serious players will genuinely appreciate. Golf is a long game, and energy levels can affect concentration and decision-making on the back nine. A selection of protein gels, nut bars or trail mix pouches is a thoughtful, affordable addition to any golf gift bundle.
A Deer Park Golf Gift Voucher
If you’re not sure what they need, a Deer Park Golf gift voucher lets them decide for themselves. Vouchers can be used across any of our three courses, the 18-hole parkland course, the par 3 short course, and the 9-hole course, as well as for lessons with Alan. Valid across all seasons, it’s a gift that works in January as much as in June.
A voucher is also a lovely way to introduce someone new to the game, a spouse, a friend, or a teenager who’s been curious about playing a round. Golf gift vouchers are available online here.
If you want to put something together that really lands, here’s a simple combination of golf gifts:
Wrap it in a golf towel, and you have a gift that any golfer would be genuinely delighted to open.
The Deer Park golf shop is open year-round. For information about gift vouchers, lesson bookings or club hire enquiries, get in touch or see our website.
