The end of August was a wrap on another successful year of Alan’s Summer Golf Camps. This year, Alan ran an incredible 18 camps, welcoming more than 200 young golfers from Howth and the surrounding areas.
And what a summer they had! With plenty of sunshine, lots of smiles and talent on display, the camps covered everything from putting, short game, full swing right through to practicing those new skills out on the course.
Running Monday to Thursday, with both morning and afternoon sessions, demand for the camps was phenomenal. As Alan puts it, “If I’d had enough hours in the day, I could easily have run 30 camps this summer!”
Watching Young Golfers Grow
One of the real highlights was seeing how much the kids progressed over the course of the camps. These early years are a great time to learn the fundamentals, build confidence and, hopefully, develop a love of golf that will last for years to come.
Of course, there was plenty of fun and friendly competition along the way. A few of our young golfers even managed to win some prize money for sinking a seriously long putt or chipping onto the green ten times in a row — no easy feat, even for some of the grown-ups!
A huge well done to every young golfer who joined us this summer. It was wonderful to see so many children enjoying the game, making new friends and spending their summer outdoors at Deer Park.
