Deer Park Ladies Celebrate 50 Glorious Years
There was a very special buzz in the air as Deer Park Ladies marked their Golden Jubilee last Wednesday 11 February 2026 marking 50 wonderful years of friendship, fairways, and unforgettable memories.
Leading the celebrations was our new Lady Captain, Rose McDunphy, whose Drive-In was nothing short of spectacular. Fittingly dressed for the occasion, Rose arrived in a stunning gold trouser suit that shimmered in the winter light — a perfect tribute to this golden milestone year. It was a powerful and stylish statement from a Captain whose leadership journey began in the most unusual of times, having first taken up the Captaincy during Covid. To now officially celebrate her Captaincy in such joyful circumstances made the day all the more meaningful.
The Drive-In itself was a wonderful occasion, filled with laughter, applause, and great anticipation for the year ahead. Members gathered to witness Rose strike the ceremonial first shot of her Jubilee year — a moment that symbolised both tradition and new beginnings.
The celebrations continued into the evening in the beautifully decorated Café Bar. The room was transformed in elegant gold and yellow, with matching chairs and tablecloths creating a warm and festive glow. It was a truly stunning setting, perfectly reflecting the pride and joy of the occasion. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and the atmosphere was one of celebration, gratitude, and camaraderie.
Adding to the significance of the evening was the presence of many of our esteemed past Lady Captains, whose dedication and leadership have shaped Deer Park Ladies over five decades. Those who were fortunate enough to attend this special Jubilee Drive-In and Celebration Dinner included:
Their presence was a powerful reminder of the strong foundation and enduring spirit of the Ladies’ Club. Each Captain has played a part in building the vibrant, supportive community we are so proud of today.
As we celebrate 50 years of Deer Park Ladies, we honour the friendships formed, the competitions played, the challenges overcome, and the countless memories made along the way. Under Lady Captain Rose McDunphy’s golden leadership, the Jubilee year promises to be one to remember.
