Colleagues, golfers and friends of Gerry all gathered together last week to mark his retirement. After an incredible 47 years of dedication, guests gathered in the Cafe Bar to celebrate and offer a heartfelt thank you to Gerry, the man whose presence on the Howth Castle Estate has always been part of its fabric.
Known for his unwavering commitment, Gerry has always gone the extra mile, sometimes in his tractor and other times on his very cool motor bike. We are also delighted to say that since his official departure, we have seen even more of him (keep it up Gerry!).
Generous, patient, and always cheery, Gerry brought warmth and reliability to everything he does on the estate. His deep connection to the estate and his passion for the place has always been evident. Among the gifts presented to him on the night, was the keys to his favourite blue tractor on the Estate along with a smaller model for his kitchen.
Gerry's legacy of hard work, kindness, and good humour will always be appreciated and remembered here at Howth Castle. Thank you for everything Gerry, you truly are a legend. Wishing you a well-earned and adventurous next chapter. We look forward to seeing you on the fairways and cooking up a storm (use that voucher!).
